Posted: 17th July 2026

Gosfield School is extremely proud to announce that Joseph P, in Year 6, will make his West End debut later this year at the Cambridge Theatre in London as part of the cast of Matilda the Musical.

Joseph will be taking on the role of Bruce Bogtrotter, a character he performed brilliantly in Gosfield School’s production of Matilda Jr. in March. This remarkable accomplishment marks a significant milestone in Joseph’s performing arts journey and is a testament to his talent, dedication and hard work.

Based on Roald Dahl’s beloved novel, Matilda the Musical is one of the most celebrated productions in London’s West End, delighting audiences from around the world with its unforgettable characters, music and storytelling. Bruce Bogtrotter is one of the show’s most iconic and well-loved characters, making Joseph’s casting an exceptional achievement.

Everyone at Gosfield School is immensely proud of Joseph and the commitment he has shown in pursuing his passion for performing arts. His success reflects not only his individual talent but also the confidence, resilience and determination that we encourage in all of our students.

Joseph’s achievement highlights the exciting opportunities available to young performers and serves as an inspiration to his fellow students. The entire Gosfield School community will be cheering him on as he takes to the West End stage and embarks on this exciting new chapter.

We extend our warmest congratulations to Joseph and wish him every success in his role as Bruce in Matilda the Musical. We cannot wait to see him shine on the West End stage.

Congratulations, Joseph – the whole Gosfield School community is behind you!
