Wraparound Care - Cover Supervisor/s

Due to maternity leave, we have a vacancy for a cover supervisor for our Wraparound Care provision – Breakfast Club, which operates every school day. We would welcome interest from anyone who would like to offer occasional cover for the evening Late Club. If you are interested in supporting on a regular or occasional basis, please contact Sara Bowles on sara.bowles@gosfieldschool.org.uk for further details.

Breakfast Club is open to all pupils from Reception upwards and is based in the Dining Hall from 7.30 am – 8.25 am.

Late Club based in the Prep School is open to all pupils from 4.50 pm – 6.00 pm, Monday to Thursday and 3.50 pm – 6.00 pm on Fridays, for supervised play or homework with a light tea provided.

Payment is at an agreed rate for the sessions that run and flexibility will be required.

Nursery Assistant

Due to expansion, we are looking for a NurseryAssistant tojoin our friendly and energetic team here at GosfieldNursery for a maternity cover. GosfieldNurseryis an award-winning setting based within Gosfield School which is a co-educational independent school that caters for children from 2 to 18 years old.

The job role will require the candidate to support ourNurseryManager and Lead Practitioner to deliver rich learning opportunities and to provide exceptional care that helps all children to develop, while meeting their individual needs.

The right candidate will be committed to ensuring the nursery provides stimulating and inspiring activities for children in both the indoor and outdoor environment.

We are looking for someone with good humour and a huge heart who wants to ensure that every child knows how special and important they are to our Gosfield family, following the school’s ethos of knowing every child and nurturing potential.

Gosfield Nursery is a term-time setting, with opening hours of 8am until 5pm. This position is for 3 days per week, Tuesday to Thursday 10am-2pm.

Part Time Relief School Minibus Driver

Gosfield School is an exceptional co-educational Independent School set in 110 acres of parkland, serving Colchester, Chelmsford, Sudbury and South Cambridge area. At the heart of our success is our commitment to a personal education tailored to your child.

Due to an increase in pupil numbers, we wish to appoint a Minibus Driver to safely transport children to and from School, collecting and dropping off at various points on a given route. You will need to be available on an ad hoc basis, to work anytime from Monday to Friday during the school term time to work for two hours in the morning and/or two hours in the afternoon. Flexibility to undertake additional, ad hoc driving work during the School day for fixtures, trips and other purposes is an advantage. Applicants must possess a D1(not 101) category licence and/or a CPC Licence.

This is a zero hours contract with a salary of £11.44 per hour paid monthly.  Interviews will be held on a rolling basis.

Teacher of PE - Full Time

Main Aim

The successful candidate will be a specialist who has the passion and enthusiasm to teach and inspire PE at Gosfield School. They will maintain high professional standards and expectations to ensure that all pupils can achieve their full potential in their academic, social, cultural and physical endeavours. The candidate will be confident teaching PE at GCSE and A Level.

Main Responsibilities

  • To operate collaboratively with the Director of Sport in the strategic delivery of this subject at Gosfield School.
  • To work with and inspire the pupils.
  • To further each child’s learning and progress through effective assessment and planning.
  • To deliver the highest standards of teaching and learning across the department and to promote best practice at all times.

General Responsibilities

  • To promote the aims and ethos of Gosfield School.
  • To be supportive of the department’s aims, agreed teaching styles, methods of assessment and other policies.
  • To comply with all relevant school policies.
  • To work with the PE Team to ensure that facilities and equipment are respected and maintained to the appropriate standard.
  • To communicate with parents to discuss issues regarding their child’s progress.
  • To differentiate work and challenges according to the ability of the pupils, whilst maintaining high expectations of all and taking full account of any linguistic or other special needs.
  • To set a positive example through teaching, appearance, conduct and contribution to the school community.
  • To encourage pupils to follow the school’s Code of Conduct.
  • To effectively use Rewards and Sanctions to support pupil behaviour and progress.
  • To maintain order and discipline among the pupils and safeguard their health and safety both when they are on the school premises and when they are engaged in authorised school activities elsewhere.
