‘In the meadow we will build a snowman....’ It certainly has been a winter wonderland at Gosfield this week! We have been trying to get the balance right between letting the children enjoy the snow and keeping them warm and dry. We are very grateful to staff and parents who have braved the conditions and enabled us to stay open.
While we have been complaining about the cold, it pales into insignificance when compared with the conditions endured by Shackleton and his team during their Antarctic expedition. Miss Giles gave a fascinating Senior Assembly on the topic this week, inspiring pupils with an account of the heroism and determination that led to all of the explorers surviving the adventure.
With any luck, when we return from Half Term, spring will have arrived. I wish everyone a very enjoyable break.
