The Art Department at Gosfield provides a dynamic and creative environment to enable pupils to express their creativity. The department gives every student the opportunity to engage in, and learn about, a range of media, including both traditional and new technologies. Students are encouraged to work individually to develop their own concepts, and collectively with others on larger scale projects.
The department aims to encourage a passion or Art and provide students with the skills, concepts and knowledge necessary for them to express their responses to ideas, feelings and experiences in a visual and tactile form.
Students study a broad spectrum of artists and Art movements in order to develop the meaning and values of Art. They study Art history, Modern Art and Contemporary Art and they are made aware of the contributions of artists from many cultures.
