WELCOME BACK

Welcome Back.  We hope you had an enjoyable and restful summer.

CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to our GCSE candidates whose results arrived over the summer. 94% of our pupils gained 5+ A*-C grades.

ECUADOR
Nine of our Senior school pupils spent three weeks in Ecuador during July. Their expedition included trekking up to the Joses Ribas Refuge located on the highest active volcano in the world and helping at the Child and Family Centre in Ambarto. It was a once in a lifetime experience for the team who all thoroughly enjoyed the adventure. Many thanks to Mr Davies and Mrs Bradbury for organising and accompanying the trip—and to all the friends and parents who contributed to the two years of fundraising that allowed it to go ahead.

SCHOOL PHOTOGRAPHS

On Monday 12th September we will have our whole school photograph taken. Can all children come to school in winter uniform. If you need any  extra uniform and are unable to purchase this from the uniform shop, please contact Mrs Lawrence on 01376 321067 or Mrs Keedy on 07736069014. On Friday 16th September we will have the photographers in again to take individual and family photographs. There will be an opportunity for siblings to be photographed together.

We apologise for the problems that many of our parents ave experienced at the uniform shop in Colchester. We are currently in discussions with Ernest Newson to rectify any areas of confusion regarding uniform supplies. I will keep you informed of any developments. In the meantime, if you are short of any items, our second hand uniform shop, kindly run by two of our parents from their homes is well stocked. Please contact either Mrs Lawrence on 01376 321067 or Mrs Keedy on 07736069014.

GOSFIELD SECOND DUATHLON
Saturday 17th September 2011
Following the success of last year's event, we are delighted to announce that Gosfield School will be holding its second Duathlon in September. For the uninitiated, a Duathlon is a race that incorporates both running and cycling. Participants need to have their own bicycle and helmet and plenty of enthusiasm and energy. Our Duathlon is a fun event that gives children an opportunity to try out this sport and get a taste for similar triathlon events. All children eligible to enter will have received an entry form, with details of the event and cost, today through the registers. Further forms will be available on request from the school office or on the school website. Please encourage your children and friends outside of the school to enter - it would be fantastic to see more children taking part.
