FOGS

Friends of Gosfield School (FOGS) aim to raise money to purchase some of the ‘extras’ that a small school cannot always provide.  Whilst the school continues to provide a budget to cover resources, our fundraising supplements the allocated budget and our purchases enrich the learning opportunities for all our young people.

We have recently purchased some fantastic new outdoor play equipment for the Prep School, Tumbling Harnesses for the school’s Trampolines and some monitoring and interactive software for the IT Suites. We’ve also purchased music equipment, lighting for the Drama department and software for the Maths department.

Our annual ‘May Ball’ and Fireworks Display are always well supported by parents and friends, and continue to raise substantial funds as well as being a great night out!

May Ball : Our annual ball is held in the silk marquee erected in the comfort of the Sports Hall. It provides a large venue, the ambience of a marqueed ball, and the comfort of not being exposed to the elements!

Fireworks Display: Our annual Fireworks Display is one of the largest in the area and prides itself on its traditional style! The Bocking Brass Band entertain the huge crowds every year and the display itself is one of the finest in the area.

The sale of high quality plants, chocolates and Christmas Cards (designed by your children) also adds to our fundraising efforts.

We try to meet monthly (usually in the local pub!) and would love to see some new faces.  Even if you can’t make every meeting, pop along when you can. Dates of meetings are advertised in the weekly newsletter.  Help with setting up (and clearing up!!) events is always required, donating prizes, loaning equipment – whatever support you can give will be greatly appreciated!
