Recently we were very fortunate to be visited and given a talk by David Ackroyd the managing director and founder of ‘Formula Gravity Racing’; the Formula 1 of go-carting. He bought with him the world speed record cart and explained and entertained the students during house activity time. David is also responsible for many of the amazing machines and challenges seen on the ‘Gadget Show’, he is also an ‘old Gosfieldian’ and keen for the school to become involved in gravity racing. After the positive response from the presentation from both students and staff, there will initially be an after school club in the summer term, which will include designing and building a cart for entry in the annual Pebmarsh races in July. We will then be looking to the future to hopefully join the world of F1 carting and perhaps bring home the world record for ourselves….. who knows! (Our only limitation is our imagination) There will be further information for anyone interested in becoming involved, particularly in becoming one our sponsors.
STOP PRESS !!!!!The newly formed Gosfield School Gravity Racing Team will be performing live at the Gadget Show NEC Birmingham on April 6th 2010.
