Following England’s recent success in the World Twenty Twenty’s the U14’s beat a formidable team from King’s School, Ely.

cricket01One of the oldest schools in the country won the toss and put Gosfield into bat. With the ball swinging about, Gosfield got off to a shaky start with the top order falling to a string of catches. The middle order rallied however and a score of 100 for 7 was posted in the allotted 20 overs.

Kings started strongly in their pursuit of the 101 run winning Target. Gosfield’s bowling was tight and the fielding exceptional. nard work put into recent practices were paying off. King’s
completed their 20 overs with a score of 87 for 9.

Gosfield were winners by 17 runs, a magnificent result against such exulted opposition. It was truly a great team effort with each man playing his part.
